Welcome to The Sisters of St Louis Brazil

This is what we are about.

We plant the seeds that one day will grow.

We water seeds already planted,

knowing that they hold further development.

We provide yeast that produces effects

far beyond our capabilities.

We cannot do everything,

And there is a sense of liberation in realizing that.

This enables us to do something and do it very well.

It may be incomplete, a step along the way,

and opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.

We the Sisters of St. Louis, Brazilian Region, welcome you!  We are presently seven sisters here in Brazil, South America, in three states: Tocantins and Goiás in the central west of the country, and São Paulo in the south. Since 1976 we have been constantly reminding ourselves that “Our first task in approaching another people, another culture, another Religion, is to take off our shoes – for the ground we are approaching is HOLY…”

We encourage you to open your mind and heart as you travel through this great country to meet us and the Brazilian people with whom we live and work.  We pray that you will be as inspired as we have been over the past thirty years.
