The Sisters of St. Louis of the California Region welcome you to our website.  Some of you who visit our site may already know us while others are meeting us for the first time.  We have our origins in France, where we were founded in 1842, by Abbé Louis Bautain, a professor of philosophy.  The congregation was founded primarily to meet educational and social needs of the time.  If you would like to know more about our Region and our ministries today, please click on any of the links on the left side of this page.
