Mighty Wind

Blog 28 imageA very strong wind last night was sheer delight for the variety of trees in my back garden. It is Maytime, the trees are in full leaf. The greenness of the tall sycamore is in striking contrast with the rich burgundy of the Japanese Maple. Each tree responding to the wind with wild abandon, expressing sheer joy in a vibrant dance. The leaves interlacing, branches swirling, gracefully bowing to each other. Their character-texture, shape and size-is very different, yet they perform exquisitely as one - Sint Unum.

It reminded me of the Apostles experience of the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost - how that ‘mighty wind’ transformed all in the Upper Room. Nature was doing similar in my back garden, and I was privileged to observe, receive and give thanks for this display.
