Bridge of Care - an extraordinary initiative in Louisville Girls High School, Ijebu-Itele, Nigeria

bridge of care 250x25026 OCTOBER, 2023. The Bridge of Care Programme was established at Louisville Girls High School in Ijebu-Itele, Nigeria, more than 15 years ago, to support the school's immediate community and neighbouring areas. It began by helping indigenous students access education at the school and at primary and secondary levels within the Ijebu region, as well as supporting them at third level. It then extended to provide school meals to Kindergarten, Primary 4, 5, and 6 in government-owned primary schools. During the Covid-19 pandemic essential food items were distributed to vulnerable groups such as orphans, the elderly, widows, and widowers. More recently the “Bridge of Care” store was established to allow the sale of new and used clothing and household items.
