Sister secures freedom for Lukmon Alani at Samaritan Project

lukman 250x2506 AUGUST, 2024. Maria Ehikioya SSL is the coordinator of the Samaritan Project at the Lagos State Government Rehabilitation Centre in Majidun, Lagos. A team of Samaritan Project volunteers provides food, clothing, medicine and toiletries to the approximately 1,500 men, women and children from all over Nigeria and neighbouring countries at the centre, many of whom are homeless, have physical or mental disabilities or addictions. Last May, Maria secured freedom for Lukmon Alani, who had been homeless 20 years ago when he was picked up state scouts for vagrancy and placed in the Lagos State Government Rehabilitation Centre. After 20 years of living in the Centre, Sr Maria was able to trace his family and reunite them.
